The Repeated Declaration of Bush… In the First War Saddam said the same Fadhil Qaradaghi G. W. Bush, insisting to accomplish US task in Iraq, declared repeatedly, and still doing, that America will not leave Iraq, Bush's slogan is simply: "no withdrawal". The same we heard in Iraq months before the first American war in Iraq 1991. Saddam appeared in TV,in fact he was seen in TV every day, talking to Iraqi journalists. The word "withdrawal" was the greatest taboo at that time and death was the fair punishment waiting to whoever pronounces it. One of journalists wanted to prove that there is no doubt concerning the "no withdrawal" decision saying that the Americans have such technology that enables them to fabricate Saddam’s sound, and thus fabricating an order of withdrawal. The idea pleased Saddam and made him to supposed the more serious possibility: “They may do more than that," he said, "and they may fabricate a film showing me ordering you to withdraw". He then asserted his decision: Even in that case don’t believe”. Saddam did not listen to all those who advised him to leave Kuwait, of course all of those advisers were non-Iraqi people. There is no need to review the days of war; I will guide you right to the end of the story. Saddam, after weeks of bombing and because of the miserable situation of Iraqi army, made a disparate effort to maneuver but US wanted one thing, finally we heard Saddam, from a noisy, low sound radio station, saying it. He said, “They wanted this word from us, so we are now saying it, we will withdraw.” But on the ground it wasn't a withdrawal, it was rather a great defeat and Iraqi solders fled from Kuwait long before saying that word. Now, bush is insisting just like Saddam, the case is worst than the case of Saddam’s dictatorship, at least there are a lot of people in America who are shouting for leaving Iraq while no dared to even ask: " why are we staying there." Anyhow, I have the feeling that America will do it and in a manner somewhat like the one of 1991. The same men, the same case, perhaps the same fate. After the entire world if full of Saddams. 10-05-2005 www.zagros.org/english-articles-2016-05-27-183542 12611 views |
